Welcome!
The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York is
completing 73 years from its inception in 1938 as a preeminent
organization. Historically speaking, it is known as the largest
community organization in the Diaspora with a membership
of over 150 active and energetic societies, of which 100 are
regional Greek societies with a proud record of achievements.
These societies have had a history and tradition for over a
century and are responsible for preserving our national and
religious identity and traditions alive, handing over the reins
from generation to generation, to the 21st century.
Our mission today does not differ from that set forth by the
founders of our organization. We seek to uphold the ideals of
our country, America, and those of our birth land Greece. We
intend to support the patriotic, philanthropic and humane
pursuits of the American and Greek peoples, as well as the
interests of the Societies which constitute the Federation. This
organization provides moral and financial support to the
Hellenic-American community, by granting scholarships and
other moral recognitions to pupils and students.

The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New
York Announced that the Honorable Robert Menendez
United States Senator from New Jersey, will be this
years Greek Independence Day Parade Grand Marshal.
The Miss Greek Independence
pageant is looking for ambassadors to
represent The Federation of Hellenic
Societies of greater New York, and the
Greek communities throughout the
tri-state area. The winners may not
score the highest in any one particular
category but will do well in all events.
They will be young women who
possess the entire package of poise,
personality, and intelligence. They
should understand that, along with the
prizes and glamour, there comes a
responsibility to the Federation, and to
the Greek community. They
automatically and instantly become
role models. It is certain to be a year of
personal growth and maturing that
money cannot buy.
