The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York is completing 73 years from its inception in 1938 as a preeminent organization.
Historically speaking,
it is known as the largest community organization in the Diaspora with a membership of over 150 active and energetic societies, of which 100 are regional Greek societies with a proud record of achievements.
These societies have had a history and tradition for over a century and are responsible for preserving our national and religious identity and traditions alive, handing over the reins from generation to generation, to the 21st century.
Our mission today does not differ from that set forth by the founders of our organization. We seek to uphold the ideals of our country, America, and those of our birth land Greece. We intend to support the patriotic, philanthropic and humane pursuits of the American and Greek peoples, as well as the interests of the Societies which constitute the Federation. This organization provides moral and financial support to
the Hellenic-American community, by granting scholarships and other moral recognitions to pupils and students.
